I found this fragrance after trying Cerruti 1881 Silver, which I loved, and which was supposed to be similar to Egoiste Platinum. The are in fact similar, the main difference being the sour and bitter aspect of this perfume, which I interpret as freshly mown grass. This side is similar to Paco Rabanne Invictus and I dislike it. In my opinion, it spoils the scent a bit. The rest is very good, though. I can see how some people may find the sharpish sour part similar to Parfums de Marly Percival or Montblanc Explorer.
Overall, I think Silver is better balanced, although maybe a tad bloated, kind of sweet and soapy. Egoiste is more aromatic and it either doesn’t have this problem or the aromatic aspect masks it. My ideal scent would sit somewhere between the two. If you like this archetype, Mercedes-Benz Silver might also be worth checking (or not - it’s not that good), although it’s more woody and salty.

Great review as always! Keep up the good work !
I have a clone of this, Armaf Legesi, for $20 with a Perfume rating 4.31 out of 5 with 417 votes on fragrantica. Also what do you mean by words like Synthetic or artificial, given that some of the notes in fragrances even of those expensive brands use synthetic notes not found in nature.
