This fragrance smells like tea, and also like something between leather and rubber. Imagine licking sweet tea from a leather jacket in a forest, or CK One that had been smuggled in a bicycle inner tube before bottling, where it lost its floral enthusiasm, but gained a manly understanding of life. You could even say this scent smells like gasoline, and you would not be wrong. It has that machinery smell to it. Yet another angle is that it smells artificial and cloying.
I can certainly see why the fragrance might be discontinued. I can also see how it might appeal to some people, either those who just like to smell like tea (even if it's a tea in a mechanics workshop), or in a way similar to Lalique Encre Noire, that is, wearing a weird scent becomes performance art that only minority will understand and appreciate. I would recommend Eau de Cedre to men who like CK One, but find it too girly. It is also somewhat similar to CH Men, although stronger and green instead of fruity.
Projection is not the greatest - enthusiasts will say "ethereal" - though not bad. Longevity is good, even very good. The bottle fits the scent pretty well.
